Three doors

Which one are you?

For your home

Solar panels and battery storage, designed from your electricity bill rather than picked from a menu. Send us a bill and a roof photo, and we will tell you what your house would do with panels on it, and what it would cost.

For your business or farm

Commercial solar for warehouses, factories, offices and agricultural buildings, designed from your consumption data. Funded so there is nothing to pay upfront, or bought outright, whichever your numbers support.

Already got solar?

We service, repair, clean and bird-proof solar systems, including ones we did not install, and we can add a battery to panels that are already on your roof. No array too small.

Why people choose us

Three things we can actually prove

We start with your bill, not your roof

Two identical houses can need completely different systems. We design from how you actually use electricity, which is also why we will not quote savings until we have done the sums for your house, in writing. Our trade body requires that. We would do it anyway.

We take the jobs the big firms won't

Some national maintenance contractors will not quote below a couple of hundred panels. The pub with forty panels, the farm with one barn roof, the house whose installer went bust years ago: that is our bread and butter. If you have solar and it needs looking at, we would rather come and look at it.

We tell you when the answer is no

No to a battery bigger than you need. No to cleaning panels the rain is already cleaning. No to solar on a roof that is wrong for it. Saying no costs us sales and wins us the customers we actually want.

The thing most solar owners don't know

Your panels will take a battery

If you already have panels but no battery, you can add one, usually in a day, without touching the panels.

Set up on the right tariff, it fills itself with cheap overnight electricity and runs your house through the expensive hours, all year round, whatever the weather.

Most people have no idea this is possible.

Residential · [Town] · [X] kWp and [X] kWh battery

[X] kWh generated in twelve months, covering [X]% of the bill

Measured

The bill was [£X] a month and the house is occupied during the day. We designed from the consumption data rather than from the roof area, and advised against a larger array than the usage supported.

Commercial · [Town] · [X] kWp

[X]% of a 24-hour freezer load, measured over [X] months

Measured

Refrigeration runs around the clock, which is the load solar is best against. The array went on above an operation that cannot stop, and the cold chain was never broken.

Servicing · [Town] · [X] kWp, installed by others

[X] kWh a year recovered on a system that had been down for [X] years

Measured

Generation had dropped and nobody had looked. The first inspection found [fault], which the original installer had never been called back for. Fixed the same week.

The six we get asked most

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover my area?

We cover the Northwest, including Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire. If you are within about [X] miles of [BASE] we will come to you. If you are not sure, ring us and we will tell you straight away rather than sending someone on a wasted trip.

Are you MCS certified?

Yes. DB Energy is MCS certified for solar PV and battery storage under certificate NIC-601172, and a member of RECC under registration 00075024. Both are on public registers you can check yourself. MCS certification also matters practically, because it is normally required for your system to qualify for the Smart Export Guarantee.

How much do solar panels cost?

It depends on system size, roof access and whether you add a battery, and we will not put a figure on your roof before we have designed it. What we will do is give you a fixed quote after a survey, with the assumptions written into it, and no obligation.

[Pending: a typical installed range for DB Energy's own work, with its basis, before this answer ships.]

Do you work with businesses as well as homes?

Both. A large share of our work is commercial, covering warehouses, factories, offices, farms and industrial units, and we can fund commercial installations so there is nothing to pay upfront. You buy the electricity rather than the system.

Do you maintain systems you didn't install?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. It makes no difference to us who fitted your panels or whether that company is still trading.

How quickly can you get someone out?

For a survey or quote, usually within [X] working days. For a fault on a commercial site under a maintenance agreement, [RESPONSE TIME].

Get a straight answer

Send it over, and we will tell you what we actually think.

Whatever your question, send it over with a photo if you have one: your roof, your inverter, your bill, the birds under your panels. We reply to every enquiry within [X] working day(s), and if the honest answer is "leave it alone", that is the answer you will get.
